Subang street!

I was the youngest then with Mr. Guillon, an American who worked at the American Embassy. Far left and right is my Dad and Om Machmud and I have so beautiful memory of them..............

Jakarta -
Aku yakin aku cinta padamu
Jalan-jalanmu yang ramai di siang hari
Dan tukang-tukang soto, pohon-pohon asem dan tanjung
Kemarin malam saya pun terbangun dari tidur
Mendengar gemercik hujan yang menderap seperti di rumahku
Aku kira aku di Jakarta kembali....

I was one year old when we 'exodus' to Jakarta in 1950's because my father got a job at the Department of Information. My parents told me that for the first time I was able to walk on the Abel Tasman Sailing ship from Teluk Bayur, Padang to Tanjung Periuk, Jakarta. So my childhood was in Jakarta till the age of 7-8! So Carl Jung was right by saying that from 0-7, was the most important part of one's life!
